Nationwide celebrations as Elahi takes oath from President Alvi

Nationwide appreciation is also pouring in for the Supreme Court judges for standing firm and upholding the Constitution, despite pressure from the coalition government who announced a boycott of SC proceedings.

After an intense political struggle, victory became PTI’s as the Supreme Court struck down Punjab Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari’s ruling and appointed Parvez Elahi as the Chief Minister of Punjab. As a result, the nation is celebrating the coalition government’s defeat.

People took to the streets to celebrate the Supreme Court decision. Interestingly, Imran Khan did not even give any call for a public gathering yet people came out on the streets in Lahore, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, etc. on late Tuesday.

PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan had, however, urged his supporters to take to the streets and celebrate today (Wednesday). He said his party will celebrate the win with the people who stood by their campaign for Haqeeqi Azadi.

According to PTI, justice has prevailed because the people’s mandate has been respected. Nationwide appreciation is also pouring in for the Supreme Court judges for standing firm and upholding the Constitution, despite pressure from the coalition government who announced a boycott of SC proceedings.

Parvez Elahi takes oath as Punjab Chief Minister

President Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday administered the oath of office to Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi after the Supreme Court declared him the Chief Minister of Punjab, striking down the deputy speaker’s ruling on the election which made PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz lose his status of the “trustee” chief minister.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr late at night and attended by the leadership of PML-Q and PTI. Moonis Elahi, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Moosa Elahi, Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed, Zain Qureshi, Murad Ras, and Yasmin Rashid were present.

Earlier, Punjab governor Balighur Rehman had refused to administer the oath to Pervaiz Elahi after which Elahi arrived in Islamabad from Lahore by a special plane for taking the oath, where he was received by Moonis Elahi.
