Disqualified Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif claimed that next general election will be a referendum against his ousting. Addressing a large gathering at Football Ground Kotla Arab Ali Khan in Gujrat, he declared that decisions against him are based on anger and vengeance.
Nawaz dared judiciary to snatch his name from him. He challenged the judiciary warning them that they cannot “remove the signatures of Nawaz Sharif from the nuclear program, CPEC and power plants”. You have ousted Nawaz Sharif from the prime minister office, but you cannot oust him from the hearts of the people,” Nawaz added defiantly.
Despite ruling the country for decades in different capacities, without devising and carrying out any revolution, Nawaz urged the participants of the rally to bring a revolution under which respect for the people’s mandate would be restored.
Apparently, Nawaz is hugely successful in his election campaigns, public reaction and support for Nawaz is increasing as he continues to play the victim card to perfection. He may go down in jail, proved guilty, but his party is expected to win using victim card.
The local leadership from Kotla had advertised heavily with a slogan ‘give respect to vote’. Today, Nawaz repeated the slogan after the accountability court hearing. He said, “Now the people are saying respect the vote.”

After holding massive rallies across Pakistan, and demonstrating street power, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was confident of sweeping the Senate elections. The resounding 3rd March victory increased Nawaz’s confidence who lambasted judiciary.
The father-daughter duo continued its attacks on the judiciary and those responsible for his ouster with a similar tone and similar words. He lamented the practice of ousting the elected premiers in the country, despite the fact that he was instrumental in a conspiracy to bring down the second government of Benazir Bhutto on November 5, 1996.
Nawaz urged that only five people were able to oust the PM elected by millions of votes. Nawaz also gave reference to the apex court decision to make all the decisions taken by ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif null and void in its February 21 decision. Resultantly, the PML-N candidates contested as independent candidates.

He claimed that the controversial decision of Supreme Court was rejected by the legislators as they elected maximum PML-N backed candidates. PML-N’s aim is to go all the way in a fight with institutions against the disqualification of Nawaz. The PML-N legislators believe that after Senate win, victory in next elections may open the way for new legislation which may restrict and confine the domain of institutions.

Though Nawaz is able to draw huge crowds, win many by-elections, and even Senate elections, he is yet to give a convincing answer in the references filed against him in Accountability Court.
