Nawaz Sharif’s pictures on Sehat cards?

Netizens are claiming that the PML-N government printed pictures of its top leaders on Imran Khan's Sehat cards.

Netizens are raising issues over PML-N allegedly using its supreme leader Nawaz Sharif’s pictures to promote Sehat cards initially introduced by the previous government.

A picture went viral on social media, showing a banner promoting government health care i.e Prime Minister National Health Program launched by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The banner holds the picture of Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and former PM Nawaz Sharif.

However, netizens are claiming that the PML-N government printed pictures of its top leaders on Imran Khan’s Sehat cards.

“Khan Sahib’s health card has been printed with his [PM Shehbaz] corrupt face and the face of fugitive Nawaz at government expense,” a PTI supporting community on Twitter said. The accusation came as netizens noticed that the banner contained PTI Sehat card’s helpline number.

“8500 was Insaf Card number and helpline 0800-09009 too,” a Twitterati noted. It is unclear whether the PML-N government is advertising its own health program at the behest of PTI’s Sehat Card. However, PML-N has previously asserted that the public welfare projects of the previous government will continue.

False reports: PML-N

Soon after Imran Khan’s ouster, there were reports that the PML-N government is shutting down Ehsaas program, panagahs [shelter homes] and Sehat Card program. The reports amassed immense backlash for the PML-N government.

However, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb termed the reports regarding closure of welfare programs as baseless.

While rejecting the reports, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that PM Shehbaz Sharif has clearly stated that public welfare projects of the previous government will continue. She further said that the Sehat Card program will continue and rather they will bring improvement in it. Marriyum Aurangzeb also blamed the members of the previous government for launching propaganda against their closure.
