Prime Minister Imran Khan has shared a throwback image from the visit of Bollywood actor, Aamir Khan to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in 2004.
The image was shared on the official Instagram account of Prime Minister Imran Khan. “16 years ago. Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital visit by Amir Khan,” Khan captioned the image.
In one of his interviews with Ranveer Singh, Aamir Khan talked about his tour to Pakistan and being called upon by Imran Khan to visit SKMCH. The Bollywood actor said that Khan had invited him for a fundraiser for the cancer hospital. Aamir said he had donated his memorable cricketing bat for the auction to raise funds for the cancer hospital at the request of Imran Khan.
Aamir Khan is one of the many admirers of the Pakistani cricketing legend. He has several times voiced his appreciation for Imran Khan’s genuine concerns for his country. Back in 2012, he even expressed his desire to visit Pakistan if Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf had won the elections. However, he could not attend the oath-taking ceremony of Imran Khan once PTI won the elections in 2018.
Back in 2013 Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf chief Imran Khan, before elections, attended an event in India. In conversation with Imran Khan, Amir Khan expressed his best wishes for him. Aamir stated that he firmly believes that one day Imran Khan will succeed in his mission.
Amir promised that after Imran Khan wins the elections, he will come to Pakistan to celebrate Imran Khan’s victory. “When you win the election, I will come [to Pakistan] to celebrate your victory. And I will bring lots of Indians with me,” Aamir had said.
Praising Imran’s vision for Pakistan, Aamir had said, “I like the idealism and the dream in you. I wish you to succeed in fulfilling your dream. I wish Pakistan gets a government that can solve its problems, a party that is determined to bring prosperity to Pakistan. It will be good not just for Pakistan but for everyone else. My heart tells me that you will succeed because you have been doing this for years. When you started, you faced numerous challenges. Yet, you are still firm in your convictions and you are still at it.”
