As per public opinion, PTI lost due to the weak performance of MNAs and MPAs. As a result, KPK’s population moved towards other political parties. However, in PM Khan’s opinion, the party lost due to the wrong candidate selection.

“PTI made mistakes in 1st phase of KP LG elections & paid the price. Wrong candidate selection was a major cause,” PM Khan said. On another note, he did express hope that PTI will come out stronger in the next elections.

A chance for PTI to change its strategy: Shibli Faraz

Reacting to the defeat, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz feels PTI didn’t do too bad in the first phase of the elections. According to him, PTI lost because most of PTI’s candidates contested against aspirants of their own party.

“The reason behind PTI’s failure in the election is that most of PTI’s candidates contested against aspirants of their own party,” the minister said. He also said the party will use this experience to prepare for the next elections.

“We have been given a chance to change our strategy and eliminate our shortcomings,” Faraz said while expressing his views over the results of the LG polls

On the other hand, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry highlighted the importance of the KP polls as it is for the first time the power is being transferred to the elected representatives at the direct tehsil level.
