PSL champion Muhammad Rizwan: The ‘new sultan’ of Pakistan cricket

Multan Sultans' Muhammad Rizwan has made his fans proud with his outstanding performance as the team won its maiden PSL trophy on Thursday night in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Pakistan Cricket team wicket-keeper batsman has been trending on social media since last night as cricket fans are delighted over the remarkable progress he has made this year. Rizwan and new entrant Shahnawaz Dahani have registered some tremendous performances in PSL 6, turning out to be a promising addition to the national team.

Rizwan had become the most successful Pakistani batsman in any single tournament of T20. He has bagged the record of 20 dismissals behind the wickets in PSL 6.

Social media users recalled how Muhammad Rizwan was ignored in the last PSL edition by Karachi Kings despite being included in the squad. He has been a star performer in international cricket series as well.

Rizwan is also the first Pakistani wicket-keeper batsman to score 1000 T20 runs in a calendar year. As a skipper, the 29-year-old Rizwan led Multan Sultans to the maiden victory of the Pakistan Super League.

Rizwan won the award for the Best Keeper of the Tournament last night. Starting from the bottom, Multan Sultans sealed the tournament with triumph.

Shahnawaz Dhani’s success

Another prominent find is Shahnawaz Dhani who bagged the award of the best emerging players on Thursday. He was also bestowed with the award of best bowler in the tournament.

Multan Sultans have dominated the match with both bat and ball. Fans are desperately waiting for the induction of Shahnawaz Dhani into the national cricket team. The 22-year-old from Larkana took 20 wickets throughout the tournament. In one of his previous interviews, he has voiced his wish to represent Pakistan in the World Cup. His fans believe Dhani, with his tremendous talent, will achieve this feat one day.

Despite an unpleasant break in the tournament, PSL 6 concluded with some amazing performances for the cricket fans in Pakistan.
