“Punjab’s capital, Lahore, is a cultural, historical, economic, and cosmopolitan centre of Pakistan where the country’s cinema industry and much of its fashion industry are based,” the press release added.

The governor also noted that the resolution was the outcome of his visit to the USA in 2021 when the State of California Assembly moved the bill.

This is indeed welcoming news for Pakistan. To clarify, apart from tech innovations, agriculture is a significant sector in California. In 2020, California generated around $49.9 billion in agricultural cash receipts with the highest valued commodities being dairy products, specifically milk, almonds, and grapes. That same year, the value of California’s agricultural production and processing industries represented 2.6 percent of the total state GDP.

California’s success in agriculture is due to the availability of natural resources like land, water, and climate. Such favorable conditions are also present in Punjab which also thrives on agriculture.
