Senior journalist exposes rifts in Sharif family?

In a series of tweets, a senior journalist, without naming anyone, hinted that an individual from the Sharif family has run campaigns against PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif.

Senior Journalist Talat Hussain has seemingly exposed the alleged rifts in the Sharif family. His revelations come after PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz held a press conference with several leaders from the PDM coalition government.

In a series of tweets, Talat Hussain, without naming anyone, hinted that an individual from the Sharif family has run campaigns against PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif. Moreover, the person also paid media channels to air programs against Maryam Nawaz.

“Maryam Nawaz today summarized all her political troubles. Whatever the system did to her has now come to light. But her own family members were campaigning against Nawaz Sharif more than Imran Khan,” Syed Talat Hussain tweeted.

“He used to run programs in the media by giving money. He used to say that Maryam should be treated like this and that. When there are such people without morals and shame inside, what can you expect from strangers,” Talat Hussain said.

“There are also records of these meetings and those with whom these discussions took place. Maryam and Nawaz Sharif can confirm if they want. But they won’t,” he further added.

Interestingly, Suleman Shehbaz Sharif, son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, rejected Talat Hussain’s statements and also called him a “liar”. This is rather unusual since Suleman Sharif would often retweet journalist Talat Hussain, however, it seems that the journalist’s claims have struck a chord with Suleman Shehbaz.

Maryam Nawaz’s press conference

Earlier today, Maryam Nawaz addressed a fiery press conference where she lambasted the judiciary ahead of the hearing of a petition against the Punjab chief minister’s election in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Maryam Nawaz expressed concerns over the three-member bench as she feared a one-sided decision in the Punjab CM election case.

She recalled that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was removed on a baseless Iqama case, adding that it was also for the first time in Pakistan’s history that the court formed joint investigation teams against PML-N.
