Pakistani cricketer, Shahid Afridi, who is currently visiting his ancestral village in KP along with his family, shared this update on social media on Monday.
Afridi posted his pictures engaging with the kids in his village on his Instagram account. In his social media post, he said he has brought his family so that they can better connect with their roots.
“No matter where you live in the world it’s always important to connect with your roots to better your sense of identity. With the family visiting our ancestral village-great meeting the locals, family & to check on the progress of the hospital, whilst indulging on local delicacies,” wrote Afridi in an Instagram account. In a series of pictures posted on his account, he could be seen sitting on a tractor.

In a Twitter post, he said that besides meeting his extended family, he is also checking on the progress of the charity hospital built by the non-profitable organization, Shahid Afridi Foundation.
“The Sahibzada Fazal Rehman Charity Hospital (SFCH) is the first and only charity-based, high-quality healthcare provider in Tangi Banda, Kohat,” reads a post on the Shahid Afridi Foundation’s website.
Earlier the organization said that a 16-bed hospital is equipped with machinery, lab facilities, four full-time doctors, and paramedic staff.
“SFCH is facilitating more than 100 patients daily and providing 15+ first aid and primary lifesaving facilities to the population of 120,000 approximately from 20 villages,” reads a post on the website’s foundation.
Back in August, Afridi announced his foundation will work to restore the public library in KP.
Since its inception, #SFCH has successfully treated 38,238 children in Tangi Banda, Kohat and adjoining areas. With #SAFhealth our goal is to enable children to enter adulthood with their potential for health and wellbeing uncompromised.

The matter came to the attention of the former cricketer Shahid Afridi after an internet user posted the images of the dilapidated public library, which is, in fact, the only library in Tank District, KP. It’s being dumped with heaps of garbage.
Earlier, this month Afridi had dropped a beautiful message for her daughter on her birthday. Afridi posted a picture of himself with his daughter on Instagram with a heartfelt message for her.
