The release of Parwaz Hai Junoon postponed till Eid-ul-Azha

News Desk |

The makers of the much-awaited movie Parwaz Hai Junoon have postponed its release till Eid-ul-Azha. The team has cited the simultaneous release of six other films on Eid-ul-Fitr as the reason for their withdrawal from the Eid race.

The official statement said that it does not fall in the broader interests of Pakistan’s entertainment industry and producers to release their movies together.

Momina Duraid Productions’ stated “There are six films releasing this Eid and currently our industry is not strong enough to support the release of so many films together. It is indeed a reason for concern for all the producers as it will be difficult for the films to break even if released together, considering the number of screens and shows available.”

“We strongly feel that this is the right thing to do in the current scenario and as members of the fraternity, we need to put aside personal agendas and support each other in order to achieve the greater goal,” said the official statement.

The film is already caught in a legal issue after the wardrobe stylist of the film, Soomar Rehman filed the case against the production house last month.

Soomar stated that the vice president of MD Films, Osman Gillani failed to mention his name as a wardrobe stylist in the credits of the film teaser released earlier last month.

The court stalled the production company from releasing the further promotional content of the movie.

Soomar, while talking to media, said “The court has passed an order and stated that the production house is not allowed to release any upcoming teasers, trailers, posters or songs without mentioning my name, at least until the next hearing.”

The movie is based on Pakistan Air Force. The film has a multi-starrer cast including Hamza Ali Abbasi, Shaz Khan, Hania Amir, Ahad Raza Mir and Kubra Khan.
