According to Amercian media, Iran had planned to kill US President Donald Trump, in a fresh assassination plot unveiled by Israel. Israel shared intelligence with the United States last week about a new and specific plan hatched by Iran to kill President Donald Trump, claims the American media.
The report came, the report comes amid the intense, amid the new wave of attacks between Iran and U.S. and after Trump’s puzzling move of boarding an old plane to depart from Turkey after the NATO summit in Ankara. President Trump had threatened Iran of full-scale destruction if Tehran acted on its plan to assassinate him. Iran said on Saturday that the new financial measure violated the preliminary deal that the two warring countries struck last month as its foreign minister reportedly arrived in Oman for talks.
According to the international news agency Reuters, some mourners at the funeral of Iran’s slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a U.S. airstrike in February earlier this year, carried banners reading, “We will kill Trump.” Moreover, in a post on X, Khamenei’s son and successor, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, also promised to avenge the death of his father and others killed in U.S. strikes.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in Oman last Saturday for talks. Oman has been a key mediator in efforts to end the war. According to the CNBC, a senior diplomat who is in direct knowledge of the talks claims that France and UK are now studying a proposal drafted by Oman that may allow charging of the navigation fees in the Strait of Hormuz.
Under the interim deal with the U.S., Iran promised safe passage to commercial ships through the Strait and agreed not to charge toll for 60 days. In exchange, the U.S. lifted its naval blockade of Iran and temporarily removed sanctions on its oil sales. But on Sunday, IRGC claimed that it has once again closed the Strait of Hormuz until further notice following attacks by U.S. on its key military sites. In a social media post a few days ago, Trump had claimed that the ceasefire is over.
