The fans were disillusioned to see Wasim Akram being harsh on Babar Azam. Fans said that Babar Azam is going through a rough patch and he does not deserve to be treated like this. They defended Babar Azam and reminded them that despite the lackluster performance he is still the best batsman who uplifted Pakistan Cricket through his smashing performance.

Others argued that apart from Babar Azam, it is the responsibility of other players too to perform and win the match.

“Was Wasim Akram going harsh on Babar Azam on the boundary line? If so then it’s wrong! You can’t do that to the captain of the national team. Did Babar choose the squad of Karachi Kings? It is only Babar who’s performing for KK. Babar at the receiving end of anger is unjustified!,” wrote a cricket analyst on Twitter.

“Really disappointed to see All Format Captain of Pakistan @babarazam258 is being treated like this by Wasim Akram. He is our hero and world’s best player, win and lose is part of the game but you cannot scold him like this!” said another user.

Wasim Akram clarifies the issue
