Indian firebrand anchor, Arnab Goswami, and wife were reportedly assaulted by goons while returning home in Mumbai.
The Mumbai Police have claimed to have arrested two men in the connection with the attack on the Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami and wife.

“Two people have been arrested for attacking Arnab Goswami and his wife. The FIR has been registered at the NM Joshi Marg Police station under Sections 341 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone 3, Avinash Kumar told Asian News International.
Goswami in his FIR has alleged that Youth Congress Workers have attacked him and his wife.
“At around 12:15 am when we reached ‘Ganpatrao Kadam Marg’, two men on a bike followed our car and tried to overtake it. These 2 men first tried to identify who was driving the car. They stretched out their arms, pointed their fingers at me, and then blocked the path of my car with their two-wheeler,” he said in the complaint.

“The pillion rider hit the right side driver window several times and then, these attackers realised that the car window was up and they couldn’t break through and immediately the pillion rider took out a bottle from his pocket and threw liquid all over the car on the driver’s side, where I was sitting. All through, both were shouting and abusing in Hindi while making violent gestures,” read the complaint.
The journalist released his video on his social media soon after the incident. He said two men riding on a bike attacked his car. He said that men initially attempted to break the windowpane of his car. Unable to do that and when Goswami tried to take his car away, they threw two liquid-filled cans on his car’s window. He said he then took his car away and drove into the building.
In his video message, he lashed out at Indian Congress leader, Sonia Gandhi for orchestrating a life-threatening attack on him. He said his security personnel caught two men who identified themselves as the member of Youth Congress.
“They had tailed me and they were given information by higher-ups to attack me,” Goswami said. “I want to tell you, Sonia Gandhi, you are the biggest coward in the country right now…You have no guts to face me…I will hold you personally responsible for any consequences of any attack on me. If anything were to happen to me, it is Sonia Gandhi who is responsible.”
A few days ago Arnab Goswami had launched vitriol against Sonia Gandhi accusing her of orchestrating Palghar lynching.
On the 16th of April, three Hindu men who were on their way to home were lynched by the residents in Gadakchinchale village of Palghar district on suspicion that they were thieves. These men were reportedly identified as Hindu religious leaders.
