It’s important to note that this will be the second World Cup held entirely in Asia, the first having been held in South Korea and Japan in 2002. This will also be the first FIFA World Cup to be held in the Arab world.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, had reportedly asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to visit Qatar for two days to discuss several concerns.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif had visited ‘Stadium 974’ in Doha during his visit to Qatar in August. He was briefed on the preparations for the FIFA World Cup.
