Forgave Dr. Nauman Niaz for the sake of Pakistan: Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar says he does not want to hold a grudge against anyone and has not misbehaved with anyone despite being mistreated several times. He said that he waited for Niaz to apologize to him on the show, but he did not, which compelled him to leave the show.

Star cricketer, Shoaib Akhtar, said that he has forgiven PTV Sports anchor Dr. Nauman Niaz for the sake of Pakistan. Akhtar said this while attending a sports show on Geo TV.

He briefed on the incident again on the show and said that he sat down for another one hour on the show after Sir Vivian Richards asked him to. “I did all this so that other stars won’t have to suffer the same fate […] I don’t hate anybody,” he had said.

He said that he does not want to hold a grudge against anyone and has not misbehaved with anyone despite being mistreated several times. He said that he waited for Niaz to apologize to him on the show, but he did not, which compelled him to leave the show.

Meanwhile, Dr. Nauman Niaz had apologized to the cricketing star on a YouTube channel on Thursday.

He said his conduct on-air was not justified.  “I apologized thousands of times over my conduct.”

“Whatever the reason, I had no right to do all this on-air, it was my fault. Shoaib Akhtar is a star and I love his cricket,” Niaz said.

Niaz said that after the program his father admonished him for his inappropriate behavior with Shoaib Akhtar on the show. While accepting his mistake he said that Shoaib Akhtar is a star and he was just the anchor on the show. He should have handled the situation better.

“It shouldn’t have happened. I’m ready to pay the price and am paying.”

Shoaib Akhtar had released an emotional message regarding his love for Pakistan on his Instagram account following his resignation from PTV Sport and after being insulted by Dr.Nauman Niaz. Former Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Akhtar, had a heated exchange with host Dr. Nauman Niaz.
