Indian media accuses PAF of attacking Panjshir with fake gaming video

Republic TV posted the video with the caption, “Pakistan army supporting Taliban against Northern Alliance in Panjshir”. Mohammed Zubair, an Indian journalist, claimed that Republic TV has used a fake video.

The Indian media has accused Pakistan Air Force (PAF) of aerial bombing in Panjshir valley, Afghanistan by playing fake videos from a game.

The Indian news channel, Republic TV, ran clips from the video game, Arma-3, claiming to be the exclusive footage of the aerial strike in Panjshir by PAF on anti-Taliban fighters.

Republic TV posted the video with the caption, “Pakistan army supporting Taliban against Northern Alliance in Panjshir”. Mohammed Zubair, an Indian journalist, claimed that the Republic TV has used a fake video from the video game claiming it to be the exclusive footage of aerial strikes.

The Indian journalist also shared fake news shared by India Today on the clashes in Panjshir valley. He shared that India Today quoted a fake account of Ahmed Massoud that claimed that a Pakistani fighter jet has been shot down in Panjshir. The image shared by the fake account is actually of a U.S. F-16 fighting falcon crash landing during training in Arizona. Indian media has several times been spotted spreading fake news regarding Pakistan.

Pakistan helped the Taliban?

Earlier, Pakistani netizens slammed the claims of the Pak Army helping the Afghan Taliban against Ahmed Masoud in Panjshir valley.

A French intellectual Bernard-Henry Levi in his tweet on Sunday said that he had received credible information of Pakistan Army commandos fighting with the Taliban against Ahmed Massoud in Panjshir valley. He even asserted that Pakistani SSG commandos have left their ID cards on the battlefield.

His claims, however, were met with mockery on social media. Levi even went on to say that DG ISI Faiz Hameed had been coordinating.

“Just received from #PanjshirValley credible information about #Pakistan commandos fighting #Massoud’s people; one commander of #SSG on the ground; cobra helicopters in the air; few #Pakistani ID left on the battlefield; and, in #Kabul, maybe coordinating, Lt Gen Faiz Hamid from #ISI,” wrote Bernard-Henry Levi on Twitter.
