PSL 4: Fawad, Junoon , Aima to perform at opening ceremony

The fourth edition of Pakistan Super League is to commence today at Dubai International Stadium. The series will begin with a highly electrifying and vibrant opening ceremony in Dubai. Various international and local celebrities are set to put the fire on stage tonight in the opening ceremony of PSL 4.

Pop band Junoon, Boney M, and Fawad Khan will be rocking the crowd at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium tonight. Other performers who will be lighting up the stage include Young Desi, Aima Baig, and Shuja Haider.

PSL 4 will feature 30 matches and will run for over a month from February 14th to March 17th. It will feature six teams- Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United and Multan Sultans.

American rapper Pitbull who was to participate in the opening ceremony dropped out last month due to flight schedule issues. In his video message released on social media, Pitbull stated “pieces of the [aeroplane’s] engine had come apart” after a test flight and that was why he would be unable to reach Dubai.”

“Unfortunately, what has happened was … it was such a long flight … they took the plane for a test flight, and when they landed, pieces of the engine had come apart,” the singer said in a Twitter video.

The opening ceremony will be broadcasted live on all the television channels in Pakistan from Dubai International Stadium. The ceremony will start at 8.45 pm according to Pakistan Standard Time

Later in the night, the defending champions Islamabad United will take on Lahore Qalandars.

This will be the fourth consecutive year for Pakistan Super League. The league of T20 matches is immensely followed and appreciated in Pakistan and has now been regarded as one of the most lucrative investment opportunities for the investors and the players.
