Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has secured 10th spot in the fresh list of most searched personality in India by search engine Yahoo.

The inclusion of Imran Khan in the list speaks of his popularity in India; perhaps PM Khan is amongst the few civil democratic leaders of Pakistan who have cast a strong impression on the people of India. PM Khan already enjoyed worldwide popularity being a classic cricketer but his recent stroke of friendship towards India has pulled his graph of popularity.

As soon as assuming the office of the premiership, PM Khan signaled his inclination towards resuming peaceful and healthy relations with India. In his first speech, Imran Khan stated Pakistan is willing to take two steps for one step from India towards reinstating peace in the distorted relations of the two countries.

PM Khan twice invited India to peace but met with disappointment as India refused to engage in dialogues. His first call towards peace was rejected during UN meeting and second at the inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor.

Appreciably, Prime Minister Khan’s government-run Instagram account has been declared the second-most active social media by a leading communication agency. The study by Burson Cohn & Wolfe (BCW) has handed PM Khan the second spot on the list of most active government accounts in 2018’s study on World Leaders on Instagram.

Indians also cherish film actress Priyanka Chopra, who has been in the immense spotlight for her wedding with American singer Nick Jonas. Hence Chopra secured 7th spot in the list.

The study has revealed that PM Khan makes 10 posts per day on average that is slightly higher than the Instagram account of Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry, who stands on the third spot with an average 8 posts per day. The state-run Instagram account of Brunei topped the list with 17 posts per day.

The study also found Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi the most followed leader on Instagram with 14.8 million followers. “This third installment of the BCW study shows Instagram has become the social media network where world leaders garner the most interactions,” said Chad Latz, Chief Innovation Officer, BCW.

“What is astounding is that the average size of world leaders’ Instagram accounts is less than half the size of their Facebook pages – with five times fewer posts over the past 12 months. However, all Instagram accounts together total 860 million interactions, which is 162 million (23 percent) more than the total interactions on Facebook over the same period.”

Commendably, Prime Minister Khan is smartly utilizing the digital space to connect with his followers and people. He holds a strong online presence on other social media platforms as well like Twitter and Facebook where he has millions of followers.
