Jawani Phir Nahi Ani’s excellent box office performance continued and the film has become the highest grossing movie of Pakistan. It made sense thus that the makers of the movie would try their luck with a sequel. With a slightly altered cast, the work on the sequel began in February. And finally, the trailer for the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 (which releases this Eid al-Adha) has been released.

The cast for the sequel features the old gang of Humayun Saeed, Vasay Chaudhry, Sarwat Gliani, Uzma Khan and Ahmad Ali Butt with the notable exception of Hamza Ali Abbasi. Mehwish Hayat is said to be returning for a cameo but Sohai will also not be featured in the sequel. On the plus side, Fahad Musafa and Mawra Hocane (both looking glamorous) will be in the new movie! Kubra Khan and Omer Shahzad are also set to appear but it is veteran actor Sohail Ahmed who has got everyone excited for the film.

His effeminate take on a character already looks like a standout and is seriously making us want to see the film as soon as possible. The movie’s trailer makes sure to show off its picturesque settings and honestly, the film looks grand which highlights just how big the JPNA franchise is becoming in Pakistan. The movie also shows some Indian actors but if rumors are true then many surprises (including a possible Fawad Khan cameo!) are in store.

Overall, the trailer looks great and promises that JPNA2 will be just as amazing as the first one. Eid al-Adha, can’t get here fast enough!
