Operation Sindoor? Pakistan Questions India’s Choice of Name for Military Strike

Pakistani citizens react to Operation Sindoor on social media

Pakistan has strongly condemned India’s missile strikes across its territory on Wednesday, labeling them an “act of war” and accusing New Delhi of blatant aggression that killed at least 26 people and injured 46 others.

The strikes came just two weeks after a deadly terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir that claimed 26 lives. India claimed its missiles targeted nine locations across Punjab province and Pakistan-administered Kashmir in a precision operation it called “Operation Sindoor.”

Pakistan’s response was swift and scathing. “They’ve named a military assault after a cosmetic item—what message are they trying to send?” said military spokesperson Maj. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry. “This is not just aggression; this is theatrical militarism.”

Pakistani civilians also reacted to the intense situation but what caught attention the most was the name of operation by India. “Operation Sindoor”
