Constable Islamabad Police Amir Baig garnered immense praise on social media after his video helping a physically-challenged man climbing up the road. IG Islamabad Police Muhammad Zulkifar Khan appreciated the humanitarian gesture of the constable and awarded him a certificate with cash of Rs.10,000.
His video was shared on the Twitter account of the Islamabad Police. The police authorities appreciated the service of Amir Baig calling it ‘service beyond the self‘. The social media users not only appreciated the humanitarian gesture of the constable but also appreciated the act of Islamabad Police for acknowledging his efforts.

While such expressions of noble acts are vital to establishing goodwill of the police department among police, there is also a need to boost morale and encourage honest police officials to improve their performance.
Many social media users including anchorperson Ajmal Jami also thanked the Islamabad Police for taking care of the citizens.

Earlier, incidents of torturing prisoners to death in the custody of Punjab Police had shaken the confidence of the people on police, which had stirred immense criticism on the police force across the country. The recent incidents had marred the image of the police and raised questions on their conduct.

Meanwhile, efforts are being made across the country to take steps for the restoration of public confidence in Police. Recently DIG Operations Islamabad Police, Waqaruddin Syed issued the instructions to police officers while addressing a meeting at the Rescue 15 office. He urged police officers to conduct meetings with the traders and local community, discuss their problems, and solve their problems with concerted efforts.

Besides the heartwarming gesture of the constable Amir Baig, the social media users also appreciated Islamabad Police for taking care of the citizens following the Azaadi March in Islamabad. People commended their efficient traffic and crowd management plan, assisting the citizens, and mitigating the impact of chaos and inconvenience to citizens of Islamabad following the political procession.
Islamabad Police has so far, been successful in maintaining law and order in the city, assisting the protestors as well as the citizens.
