While the Pakistani team trended on Twitter during the world cup, Pakistani players also grabbed the attention of social media users for different reasons ranging from their performances to hilarious incidents.

Interestingly, Shadab Khan was also the star performer from Pakistan in the semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2021 against Australia. Shadab Khan picked up four wickets in the tournament and supported the team. The team, however, lost the match against Australia.

The defeat disheartened Shadab Khan as pictures of him sitting in the ground following the match went viral on social media. Skipper Babar Azam and all-rounder Shoaib Malik were seen consoling him in the field following the match.

“Sorry Pakistan. We tried our best. Thank you for all your support and love throughout the tournament. I am proud of my team. We will InshAllah bounce back with your support. Preparations for the next series and the next world cup start now #PakistanZindabad,” said Shadab Khan on Twitter.

“Thank you to the entire coaching staff @HaydosTweets, @VDP_24, @Saqlain_Mushtaq Bhai, and co for their constant support. They gave us freedom and confidence. I can’t thank enough ppl but most of all thank u for all those who support us during tough times,” he added further.

“It was a great experience to represent Pakistan in my first #T20WorldCup. The support we received was unbelievable. Aiming to work hard and prepare for the next World Cup. #PakistanZindabad,” he said in another tweet.
