Provincial minister Haji Noor Mohammad condemned the bomb attack. He also added that the terrorists want to destroy the peace of the province.

“They will not be allowed to succeed in their designs,” the minister said. “The people of the province are standing on the side of the forces,” he added.

Important to note, this is not the first time a blast occurred in the Sariab area. In October 2021, a blast near Balochistan University on Quetta’s Sariab Road left one policeman dead and 17 others injured. Civil Hospital Spokesperson Dr. Wasim Baig added that the injured included 13 police officials and four passersby.

According to details, the attackers wanted to target the students. However, police officials became the target as a result of tight security arrangements in place.

Increase in terror activities

Pakistan is witnessing a surge in terror incidents for the last few days. Balochistan continues to remain a victim of terror attacks with terrorists targetting security forces.

To clarify, a few days ago, armed terrorists attacked two security posts in the Panjgur and Naushki districts of Balochistan. The attack triggered a gun-battle that killed at least four attackers and a soldier. The newly formed separatist Balochistan Nationalist Army claimed responsibility for the attacks in a post on Twitter.

As a result, Pakistan forces launched a clean-up operation. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations statement, twenty terrorists were killed during the operations while nine security personnel embraced martyrdom.

In Panjgur, the security forces repulsed the terrorist attack after an intense exchange of fire during which some terrorists fled the area. The security forces also carried out a clearance operation to hunt down the hiding terrorists in the vicinity.
